“The Urban Protection Series I wore today was made with Doomsday in mind and is reminiscent of the functional clothing often worn by the protagonists of sci-fi movies. No matter how rough the conditions of Earth may get, these clothes can always be worn. I feel that this is a dystopian yet romantic thought. Even though we don’t know how the world is going to change, anyone can wear these durable clothes for a long time. After wearing it myself, I was surprised at how light it feels and how easy it is to move. This jacket is made of textiles that can protect me from acid rain. I mean, who thinks that far!? I’m fascinated by their forethought and attention to detail. This jacket also has a mask with air-purifying qualities as well as a tag that can be used to write down basic health information like your blood type. I recently saw a list of items to prepare for a Black Lives Matter protest on Instagram, and it recommended masks, tear gas resistant goggles and emergency contact information written down on your body (in the event that you fall down and are carted off). In this sense, the masks and chest tags are not an exaggerated detail at all. In fact, it feels appropriate for our current climate. In this way, the details and materials of C.P. COMPANY’s clothes each have their own story. To me, that is the big appeal of their clothes.”
